Being a Top Gun Without Having to Ride Bikes Or Fly Jets

I have to say there are not many movies I have watched more then three times and yet Tom Cruise, with his cheeky smile and his never say die maneuvers in Top Gun keep me watching that movie very time it comes free on TV. He was a Maverick and a guy that could not be trusted to do things the conventional way who felt life was not funny unless you were doing fly bys on control towers and spilling people's coffee. Oh I am a bit of a rebel.

Why should I serve God?

I thought my father didn't want me for most of my life.

My brother beat me up the first eight years of my life.

I fell in love with one girl and she only wanted to be friends and broke my heart.

I was molested at 14 years of age.

I fell in love at 23, and was left broken and bleeding from my heart at 27 from the girl of my dreams.

I lost my mind at 29 and had a breakdown, and was diagnosed with Manic Depressive disorder (Bipolar Disorder)

I lost my son eight years ago when my wife remarried, and she said I couldn't see my son anymore and God told me to walk away. I address my reasons in another article.

I lost my mind again and was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder. So now I had Bipolar and Schizophrenia. I address that in Four good things about being Bipolar and Schizophrenic.

I get told to throw my first screenplay away, that I wrote in 2000, being told by Jesus it is too dark for people.

I get told to throw out my first 400 page novel by Jesus in 2005 as it is you guessed it, "too dark" as well as my second screenplay about a serial killer.

I get told by Jesus to go off medication in November 2005, and am admitted to hospital March 2006. Crazy again.

I have a false "holy spirit" that pretends to be Jesus, a demon imposter that gets me in trouble, and only in August 2006 I am told how to "test the spirits" and stop this deception.

November 2006 I am told by the real Jesus that I am to close down free prophecy site that I love as He has other things for me to do.

I have had a life time of people not listening to me and a life time of people hurting me.

Two months ago a man tries to kill me and now I can't go to a favourite place of mine as God tells me my life is in danger.

So why should I serve God?

Because His Son bled and died for me and God has a great dream for this broken man. Already 250 people a day read my articles and already I feel like a preacher. How do I feel now? I feel excited someone is listening to me and people are writing to me of their thanks.

You know God has a purpose for you.

In Psalms God makes a promise to all you guys like Maverick!

4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

You don't have to give up on your dreams and your desires. You don't have to sell out. You just have to forgive God and stop your stinking thinking, and learn to obey His commands and live a life that makes Him smile with joy as you walk each day and obey Him.

You have to go through all the practice like any athlete goes through mammoth hours of training for every race they compete in. I used to surf and man I have to tell you, you can't be fat and surf really good. The amount of paddling on a surfboard makes you get big arms and a toned body and your arms just want to fall off after a few hours.

It's the same with God.

If your desire is to serve Him full time, there will be a lot of paddling and you will need great character.

If your desire is something else, delighting in the Lord and doing things the way the Bible preaches will see you get your desires as the Scriptures promise it.

You want money?

Don't make an idol of it, but you really want God to bless you with your business or your life so you can bless more people? You want people to love you and your products better then a similar business with the same on offer?

Want money from God? Give Him the best of your money and the first 10% to your church.

Want to follow on the right path and all your decisions be right? Stop thinking with your mind and with man's books and knowledge and learn to hear the promptings of the Holy Spirit in your heart.

The better you are as a Christian the more your branch will be pruned and it will hurt, and you will have to overcome and hea,l and then your character will be better and be able to produce more fruit. Jesus says so.

Want to prosper in all you do?

Obey God and get away from people who don't. Take God's counsel in the commands and obey them and God will bless you in every area of your life.

The leaves on your branch in Psalm 1 and Jeremiah 17:8 is for the unsaved and hurting people to come for help and healing. Your leaves and fruit will always be available and you will not suffer, and hurting and broken people will always find answers with you. God will use you.

So get on your knees and pray and take some of my medicine. The Word of God can heal you.

Let me pray

Father teach them the truth that all the answers are not found in books or in men but the Holy Spirit is good enough to teach, rebuke and encourage every single weary Christian, and even reach out to people who are not saved. God bless this message, give the people a good boost of truth here and encourage them to get a highlighter out and go through the Proverbs themselves. I pray you anoint this message and let it be sent to the far reaches of this earth and that all the Mavericks out there forgive God and submit to His commands and His direction.
